As we celebrate Pride 2024, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment in history. Our march toward equality, justice, and acceptance continues, yet there remains a formidable adversary. The majority of the conservative Christian church, cloaked in a veneer of sanctity, perpetuates a corrosive narrative against the LGBTQ+ community. This newsletter aims to unravel the insidious indoctrination that fuels hatred and bigotry within these religious enclaves.

The Doctrine of Disdain

For centuries, conservative Christian churches have wielded their influence to marginalize and demonize queer individuals. This indoctrination is not a relic of the past but a living, breathing doctrine that continues to permeate sermons, teachings, and community practices. This ‘love the sinner, hate the sin’ theology is used as justification for their hatred of queer people.  By cherry-picking scripture and distorting religious tenets, these institutions propagate a message of exclusion and intolerance.
