The Doctrine of Disdain
For centuries, conservative Christian churches have wielded their influence to marginalize and demonize queer individuals. This indoctrination is not a relic of the past but a living, breathing doctrine that continues to permeate sermons, teachings, and community practices. This ‘love the sinner, hate the sin’ theology is used as justification for their hatred of queer people. By cherry-picking scripture and distorting religious tenets, these institutions propagate a message of exclusion and intolerance.
